I missed joining December's 3D Artiste Christmas across Canada Blog Hop using the Cricut Artiste Cartridge below:

Check out the blog that I missed:

starting with Darla, out east and coming across Canada.

I was just so busy with everything else, also fighting a crazy cold.  I was sad to have missed the hop.  I finished creating some boxes that my friend used for Christmas gifts, 2 days after the hop was up and running.  This would have been my contribution to the hop:

Materials used:
  • S1210 - Very Merry Christmas - SOTM
  • D1527 - Perfect Fit Frames Flair
  • B1412 - Perfect Fit Holidays Holiday
  • X7162B - Pear & Partridge Paper
  • X7146B - Wonderland Paper (Autumn/Winter 2011 Idea Book)
  • X7145B - Believe Paper (Autumn/Winter 2011 Idea Book)
  • Z2170 - Ruby Ink
  • Z2137 - Olive Ink
  • Z2160 - Twilight Ink
  • Z2111 - Chocolate Ink
  • Z1482 - Silver Glitz Glitter Gel
The boxes were cut from the Artiste cartridge as well as the tags.  I did use some red glitter glue that was laying around and the Silver Glitter Gel on the tags.

Thanks for checking out my blog.  Comments make me happy.

Christmas Card Hop

Welcome to our first of 2 Blog Hops happening this month. In this Hop you will find that each consultant has created 3 Christmas Cards using non-Christmas paper! They were given the challenge to create these 3 cards using either cardstock or another paper packet of their choice.  I decided to use the Avonlea Paper Packet for my Christmas Cards.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada then please start at the beginning and join "Deanne" in NewFoundland at Deanne Stamps. If you came from "Arlene" of Arlene's Creative Space (the person before you in the lineup) then you are in the right place!

Here are my three cards.  I had alot of fun creating these.

Here is a list of the products I used to create these cards:

Here is a closeup of the cards individually:

This one I stamped in Cranberry Ink.  I used the circle punch and punched 3 circles on a 4 x 5  inch piece of paper.  I just made sure they were evenly punched.  I stamped the 4 stamps on paper and then hole punched around the stamped area.  I glued those 3 on the base card.  I used foam adhesive for the 4 x 5 inch piece after tying the hemp around it.  I used the foam adhesive to put the `warmest wishes`on the card.  I inked around the card base in cranberry ink.

I stamped this one in Ruby Ink.  I just made sure that when I cut the various pieces of paper that it equaled the width of the card base.  I used the sparkles to accent some of the snowflakes.

In this last one, I used Ruby ink, again.  The first piece of paper attached to the card base is 3 1/2 in width.  The second piece is 3 inches.  I tied the hemp around both.  I used foam adhesive for the Dec. 25th stamp and I used had fun stamping the snowflakes wherever I wanted.  I inked around the edges to complete the card.

I`m all done.  Hope you enjoyed my cards.  Feedback is always welcome.  Your next stop on the Cross Canada Hop is "Carrie" of Scrappin with Carrie.

Here is a complete list of the blog hop in case you get lost along the way:

Thanks for hopping along with us - we hope we were able to inspire you to create your own Christmas cards using some of the designs and paper seen along the way. Join us again on November 15th when we showcase our versions of Advent Calendars.

Welcome to our October Cross Canada Blog Hop!  This month our project is the My Creations Canvas Journal.  This product can be found on page 132 of the Current Idea Book, purchased exclusively through a Close to My Heart Independent Consultant for only $8.95.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada then please start at the beginning and join "Michelle S" in Nova Scotia at http://mycreationswithmichelle.blogspot.com/2012/10/cross-canada-blog-hop-101512-my.html.

If you came from "Michelle S" of "http://mycreationswithmichelle.blogspot.com/2012/10/cross-canada-blog-hop-101512-my.html" then you are in the right place!

Here is my canvas journal:

I luv the simplicity of my design.  I wanted to be able to carry my journal around without anything falling off or getting destoyed, since I like to write alot.

Products I used to make my journal:

- Brocade Assortment (for the key)

I just made sure that I had enough paper to cover the front of the cover, gluing it down very well.  I used both adhesive tape and glue.  I inked around the chocolate card stock (which I cut - 3 3/4 by 3 3/4), in chocolate ink, giving it the finishing touch.  The houndstooth alphabet I inked using chocolate ink as well.  I added the chocolate gems, once I glued my alphabet down with the words I wanted to use.  The key was put on last - it is the part of the journal I like best.

I'm now finished so your next stop on the Cross Canada Hop is Krista of "http://simplycreatingtogether.blogspot.com/2012/10/cross-canada-blog-hop-canvas-journal.html".

Our Cross Canada Blog Hop Deput

Welcome to our September Cross Canada Blog Hop!

This is the first Blog Hop for our Cross Canada Group.  Enjoy!!!

This month our project is the "My Creations Bracket Frame". This product can be found on page 132 of the Autumn/Winter 2012 Idea Book, purchased exclusively through a Close to My Heart Independent Consultant near you for only $8.95.

In this hop, you will see how our Crafty Canadian Consultants have decorated their Bracket Frames! We hope you enjoy our blog hop today!

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada then please start at the beginning and join Deanne in NewFoundland at "http://deannestamps.blogspot.ca/".

If you came from Suzette of "http://croppaperscissors-sue.blogspot.ca/" (the person before me) then you are in the right place.

Here is my bracket frame:

I made the frame to hold a picture of my parents.  It's a picture of them on their 50th wedding anniversary.  I changed the colour of the picture to sepia to compliment the frame.  I think it turned out nice.

Supply List:

  • Pear & Partridge Paper Packet
  • Mocha Opaques Adhesive Gems
  • Cricut Artiste Collection for the flowers
  • Cricut Art Philosophy Collection for the frame layout & the corner and straight flourishes
  • Ruby Ink
  • Desert Sand Ink
  • Liquid Glass

Instructions:

  1. I used my cricut machine to cut the frame out using <Square4> on page 53 of the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I had it on the "Fit to Page" setting to cut out the frame and then used <Square1> on page 23 on the "Center Point" setting and "Real Dial Size" setting to cut out the square.  I did have to play with it a few times so try it with scrap paper first. I used a B&T Duo paper from the Pear & Partridge Paper Packet.
  2. I cut two 1 inch wide by12 inch long strips of paper using cranberry cardstock that is included in the Pear & Partridge Paper Packet.  I then used a ruler to mark off an 'inch and a quarter' then 'half an inch', repeating until the end of the strip of paper.  Fold it so it looks like the one in my picture, gluing both sides so it stays down.
  3. The flowers are cut using the Artiste cartridge.  I used "Accent 2" (yellow flower in the book), 3 at 3 inches and 1 at 2.75 inches.  I used "Liquid Glass" to glue them together.  Two flowers were made using desert sand cardstock and 2 (1 smaller) using cranberry cardstock.
  4. I inked around all the edges of the frame and the edges of the cranberry strip of paper using "Desert Sand Ink".  I also added some ink to the cranberry flowers.
  5. I used "Ruby Ink" to give the desert sand flowers a little colour.
  6. I added the large gems to the centre of the flowers and the small gems to the flourishes, mixing the light and dark gems.

Well, it's all done.  I hope you enjoyed my blog (this one is my first one ever) and come back to check every now and again to see what I've been up to.
